i’m sooooo excited but i just cant wait that long.  i saw archos (a company i never really liked thats been around for a loooong time) announce an android 2.2 archos 101 tablet for october yesterday.  i think i will just get it.  it looks decent and has good hardware.  might be fun to hack with.  not to compare to ipad but it has a larger screen with a better aspect ration.  i’m sure the apple lcd will be very hard to beat.  the device is a bit thinner too and noticeably lighter from what i hear.

but i dont want to hear about it!!  i want to be about it!!  i want to have it.  after all, at the ü, we dont re-post and speculate.  we have to have the electronics in our grubby hands!  so until then.  much like in life, i got nuttin.

oh yea..archos (never like them—why do i want this again?) model numbers are bullshit.  fire your marketing.  oh yea, i’m buying one cause no other offerings would be available yet.

so i will prolly get two tablets.  this one and then this one will look like shit when google releases something in january and i will have to have that one too.  now if i can only find a credit card that hasn’t been shut off.

the archos 101. no, i dont have this. nor have i seen this. looks like a bullshit image i found on google. release it already and i will buy it.

what sucked is it was down so long and their “system status” page says nothing.  useless.  well at least it is back up today but then i started thinking, are there good alternatives to dreamhost?  so i’m looking around and seeing what i can find.

dreamhost has pretty good uptime. i still want to see what other hosting is available.

this place is so small, there is only one worker in the whole place who tends bar and cooks the food.  the kitchen grill is right in the bar.  like behind the counter.  not in a separate room.

over the weekend i cleaned up my svn repos on dreamhost.  the svn for this site is ….. svn.futurecrue.com.  i have a bunch of projects currently.  because i ported things over from other servers, my dumb ass lost all the revision comments.  so much of the code is at revision 1.

i still need to find my android apps….they are around somewhere.  i’ll get those up too when i get a chance.  for now, the pic below shows the repos.  yea like someone will check out my useless code.

if this stuff was any use, i'd put it up on a real site.

like i just bought a bike and was driving around on it today at 120mph (~200kph for our international readers)  but wouldnt a street bike and a cruiser bike be the shit for all situations?!?

i was dicking around with $500USD over getting it or not.  i dunno.  i’m never like that.  but 2 bikes??  OMGWTF bike spree.

if you are using firefox, at least you have a clue or somebody that setup your computer has a clue and convinced you that firefox was a better choice.  but you might want to rethink that because firefox has gotten slow, clunky and its development team has lost their momentum.

if you are using safari then your best bet would be to draw a warm bath, write a goodbye note and get a razor ready for your wrists cause your so in love with apple you should prolly just end it all.  really.

lets not even get into opera.  if you actually use that then you should be taken out back and hose whipped and then cut up into pieces and stuffed into organizer bins.

so what should i use oh great one??

you should take a look at google chrome.  even if you looked at it before, its gotten serious good in the last 3 months and you need to look at it again.  this is the browser that really started off as a joke.  but it has serious ambitions and serious momentum.  firefox is dead.  ie was always dead.  and well opera and safari are opera and safari.

i was recently impressed with the developer tools that are automatically part of chrome.  no need to download firebug or other extensions because chrome does a much better job.  i was able to launch a javascript console that always keeps your history.  with firebug you have to “turn it on” and the event you were after prolly already happened.

and chrome is FAST!!  and it has a wealth of quality plugins.  i would say if you havent tried it in the last 3 months, you havent tried it.  quit reading this and give it a try.  or die in ignorance.

before you die in ignorance, look at the snappy developer tools built into chrome.

luckily i’m on this super comfy metra train with my sweet ass mac book pro and i’m able to login and adjust my php conf file with dreamhost as necessary.  too easy.

in the meantime, say goodbye to clearandvalid.com.  yea right.  clear and valid dot wha?!?  exactly.  my mom doesnt go to that site.  1 person went to it looking for pr0n.  fail.

so this is pretty much the only site i have left and it will die in a fire soon enough.  but for now, were back.  the bills are paid and the lights are on.  so sit back, chilax and stfu.
